SUMMARY:The Lee County Libraries will be hosting Making our Voices Heard\, a traveling exhibit from North Carolina Department of Natural and Cultural Resources from September 3rd through October 27th. The exhibit tells the stories of seven everyday North Carolinians and extraordinary leaders — Gertrude Weil\, Henry Owl\, Joe Lewis\, Abraham Galloway\, Ronald Mace\, James Hunter\, and Willa Player — who petitioned\, protested\, and organized to expand democracy. The exhibit explores change\, freedom\, civic responsibility\, and overcoming challenges by telling the story of a few North Carolinians who have raised their voices to call out injustice and fully participate in our democratic society.\n\nThe exhibit will be open to the public:\nTuesdays and Thursdays 10 AM - 7 PM\nFridays and Saturdays 12 PM - 4 PM\n\nSpecial dates and times are available to host classroom field trips\, please reach out to Kate Munn at 919-718-4665 if you are interested in scheduling.
